7 Home Remedies for Psoriasis

Psoriasis is of the most unpredictable and irritating disease because anyone can not predict how much it’s going to stay on your skin. Some times it may stay for shorter period and sometimes it stays for longer.  Psoriasis is one of the most  persistent of skin disorders. It’s characterized by skin cells that multiply up to 10 times faster than normal. As underlying cells reach the skin’s surface and die, their sheer volume causes raised, red plaques covered with white scales. Psoriasis typically occurs on the knees, elbows, and scalp, and it can also affect the torso, palms, and soles of the feet.

Little Sun Helps

Spend few minutes  in the outdoors. The sun’s ultraviolet B rays can help fight our psoriasis.

Stick to 5 or 10 minutes a day, and use sunscreen on spots without psoriasis. Too much sunrays can raise your risk of skin cancer.

Add Epsom in Your Bath

We can also shade some our dead skins by adding seasons into our bath. Put Dead Sea or Epsom salts into a tub with warm water. Soak for about 15 minutes, and use a moisturizer when you’re done to seal in the water.

Turmeric – Ayurvedic Magic Drug

You might know it as the yellow herb that shows up in foods with a curry sauce. Studies show it may cut down your psoriasis flare-ups. You can try it as an ingredient in your meals or as a supplement.

Kill That Dryness

Looking for a way to kill the itch? A coconut oil can be the answer. Try petroleum jelly or coconut oil. It locks water into your skin to help it heal and reduce the redness.

Soak in Oats

It’s a natural way to soothe your skin. Put some ground-up oats in your bath, sit back, and relax. Just make sure the water is warm, not hot, so you don’t irritate your skin.

Meditation and Yoga

Cut down your stress to shake off your symptoms. Meditation can help you take your psoriasis in stride. Yoga is especially helpful if you have psoriasis arthritis, too, because it eases joint pain and expands your range of motion.

Aloe Vera

Studies suggest this plant can improve psoriasis. Aloe vera is anti-inflammatory and helps decrease redness. Use gel or cream with 0.5% in it on your skin.
